[RE]fractal

Xaever Mand contributed to the project in collaboration with the Scale Rule collaborative.

[RE]fractal was a pavilion designed and built by volunteers for Scale Rule, a non-profit organization that aims to introduce High School students to engineering and architecture through weekend workshops. The result of which being a concept was then selected to be designed and built by industry professionals. The winning concept focused on a contextual response to surrounding vegetation and the endless variety of shades of color. From completion of the workshop, to construction of the finished pavilion, the design team worked iteratively. The goal was to ensure the initial concepts developed by the high school students were kept intact - while also creating a professionally constructed, materially conscientious, and geometrically innovative pavilion.

[RE]fractal was designed and constructed in conjunction with Professor Edward Segal, Dan Bergsagel, Chris Obayda, Lola Sheppard, Ryan Barnette, Justine Verhaeren, Matt Carsello, and Jeffrey Moser.
